Tom
Stick, owner of Kodiak Discoveries, began hunting and fishing on Kodiak
Island in 1985, and has guided on the island since 1988. In 1994, he purchased
the facilities at Port Vita, and has been constantly upgrading them since.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a nuclear submarine officer, Tom
later worked as a civilian nuclear engineer. After additional professional
schooling, he practiced general dentistry for eight years before coming
to Alaska. Together with his other guides and staff, Tom will work hard
to make your trip to Alaska a memorable and enjoyable experience--a unique
way to experience remote Alaska.
We pride ourselves in the quality of our employees and their dedication
to showing our guests the best possible time. We encourage our guests to
participate in all our ongoing camp routines and activities and to experience
for a moment the "subsistence lifestyle" in Alaska. At the same time, we
applaud those who choose instead to wander in the woods or up the streams
for ultimate relaxation.
